Rockies 8, Padres 4
Monday at Peoria Sports Complex

At the plate: Shortstop prospect Ezequiel Tovar, whom the Rockies are very excited about, hit a two-run homer to left field in a four-run sixth inning. … A four-run eighth was powered by RBI singles from Warming Brenable and Brenton Doyle, with Bret Boswell clubbing a two-run triple.

Worth noting: Third-base prospect Aaron Schunk made a terrific over-the-shoulder catch in shallow left field in the eighth inning.

Up next: Rockies (3-2) at Angels (2-2), 2:10 p.m. (MDT) Tuesday, Tempe Diablo Stadium

Rockies probable pitchers: LHP Kyle Freeland, RHP Ashton Goudeau, LHP Reagan Todd, RHP Logan Cozart
