Denver hit 80 degrees on Monday for the first time since early November, but Tuesday is a much different story with rain and maybe some snow.
The high in Denver will be 54 degrees with a 100% chance of precipitation and thunderstorms possible after 3 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Winds could reach 25 mph. The rain will continue until around 10 p.m. when it could switch over to snow. The low will dip to 30 degrees, and winds will increase to gusts of 33 mph. Little to no snow accumulation is expected but roads could be slick and slushy Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
If temperatures drop enough, 2-5 inches of snow is possible over the Palmer Divide and nearby foothills.
The wet weather should taper off before 2 a.m. Wednesday.
An upper level low will bring moderate snowfall mainly to the mountains starting this morning through midnight. Those traveling to the mountains, valleys, and Palmer Divide should prepare for winter conditions on the road.

Wednesday will be partly sunny with a high of 50 degrees. The low will dip to 31 degrees, and 24 mph wind gusts are possible all day.
Thursday will be 62 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Another round of snow showers will roll through Thursday night and into Friday morning for the mountains, bringing rain into the metro area.
Warm temperatures are in the forecast for the upcoming weekend.
