Edward Tipper was one of the last remaining and original soldiers depicted in the "Band of Brothers", before he died at 95 in 2017 in Lakewood. PFC Edward Tipper parachuted into Normandy on June 6, 1944 with Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. Tipper received a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for his service during World War II and D-Day. In 2011, the French government bestowed on him the French Legion of Honor medal, the country's highest honor.
