Denver weather: Temperatures expected to rise into 90s Thursday

The metro area is forecast to have partly sunny skies with a high of 91 degrees

Temperatures reaching into the 90s are expected in Denver Thursday, the National Weather Service said.

The metro area is forecast to have partly sunny skies with a high of 91 degrees. Winds are expected to reach between 6 and 11 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph, while there is a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m., the weather service said.

Friday is forecast to have similar weather, reaching a high of 92 degrees under mostly sunny skies before a slight chance of rain and storms rolls in after 1 p.m..

Temperatures are expected to climb during a dry and sunny weekend, with a high of 94 degrees on Saturday and a high of 96 degrees on Sunday.

Monday is expected to stay in the mid-90s as winds pick up speed.
