The Orlando Magic signed , to his rookie contract on Friday.

The Magic drafted Banchero out of Duke on June 23 along with in the second round (pick No. 32).

Orlando didn’t disclose the terms of Banchero’s deal, citing team policy, but the NBA’s collective bargaining agreement includes rookie scale contracts for first-round picks based on where the player is drafted.

Banchero likely signed a 4-year, $49.4 million contract, .

The free agency moratorium, a negotiation period in which teams can come to terms on contracts and other deals while the new salary cap numbers are adjusted after an audit of league finances, started Friday and will run through Wednesday but teams are allowed to sign their first-round draft picks to standard rookie deals.

The first two years of rookie contracts for first-round picks are automatically guaranteed. Years 3 and 4 are team options. Second-round picks don’t have automatic guarantees.
