A pedestrian who was hit by a motorist in Denver has died, and police are looking for the driver who fled the scene.
HEADS UP: officers are investigating a crash involving a motorist and a pedestrian at Gaylord and Colfax. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with unknown extent of injuries. The motorist fled the scene. EB Colfax is closed. Alternate routes advised.

The incident happened Tuesday night at East Colfax Avenue and Gaylord Street, police said at 10:02 p.m. on Twitter. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital.
On Wednesday police announced that the pedestrian has died, and “investigators are working to develop suspect information.”
The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner will release the identity of the victim.
