
The brush fire that sparked Tuesday afternoon south of Morrison is now 50% contained, with fire crews reporting that there’s “not much left” to deal with, West Metro Fire Rescue announced Wednesday afternoon.
The Snow Creek fire, near the intersection of U.S. 285 and Colorado 8, forced one residence to evacuate Tuesday and put dozens of other homes in the area on pre-evacuation orders.
Crews on Wednesday are “systematically working their way around the fire, digging line, clearing out debris, checking for hotspots and cutting down burned vegetation,” West Metro said on Facebook.
