Two lanes of eastbound Interstate 70 between Sheridan and Lowell boulevards are reopen after emergency bridge deck repairs, a Colorado Department of Transportation spokesperson said.

The closures happened early Thursday, slowing the morning commute through the area. CDOT advised drivers to be prepared for delays, or use an alternate route if possible.

After being down to one open lane, the closed lanes reopened in the afternoon, CDOT said in a 3:31 p.m. tweet.
