Mike Kafka will be the Giants’ offensive playcaller, head coach Brian Daboll announced Monday.

Kafka, , called plays for Big Blue’s offense this preseason, where they finished 2-1.

The former Chiefs quarterback coach will playcalling duties against the Tennessee TItans on Sunday.

“I have a lot of confidence in Mike,” Daboll said. “We’ll stay with how we did things in the preseason.”

Prior to Daboll’s hiring in January, he spent four season as an offensive coordinator calling plays with the Buffalo Bills. His time with the Bills was a success, making the postseason three out of four seasons he was there. The BIlls also averaged 28.4 points per game last season, third best in the league.

Last season, the Giants’ offense started the season with Jason Garrett as playcaller. and former Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens took over his duty’s following a 30-10 week 11 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Last season’s offensive struggles led to the organization undergoing staff changes in hopes of putting an end to losing.

John Mara, president of the Giants, expressed that he “” about the direction that franchise was heading in after firing former head coach Joe Judge.

Big Blue averaged 287.3 yards per game, which was only better than the league’s worst Houston Texans.

In a small sample size with limited first-team reps, the Giants averaged 382.7 yards per game this preseason under Kafka’s playcalling, which ranked first in the league.
