Two people were shot in a residential block of Northglenn Sunday afternoon, according to Northglenn police.

The shooting happened at about 2 p.m. in the 11600 block of Pearl Street, police said in a statement. Two people were taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds.

Police spokeswoman Renae Lehr said the call came in as a trespassing complaint in a “shed area” around the back of a home. She said police were interviewing one person from the home in the wake of the shooting, but no arrests had been made by Sunday evening.

Additional details about how shooting unfolded were not immediately available.

Police said there is no ongoing threat to the community. Lehr did not know the ages or conditions of the two people who were shot.

The victims have not been publicly identified.
