The race features Democrat Richard Webster and Republican Ryan Armagost

PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:
Getting your player ready...

What are your top three priorities for the next legislative session?
Tackling the cost of housing, education, minimum wage

The chamber may see split Democrat-Republican control next year. On what issues do you see common ground with the opposite party?
I hope education and inflation

What perspective or background would you bring to the chamber that is currently missing?
A person of color from north Colorado

What more can the state legislature do to ease housing costs across Colorado?
Easing rules for mortgages, tax breaks for builders to build more affordable housing, the state buying land and selling it to Colorado citizens at a discount

Do you support the current law on fentanyl possession and resources for treatment?
N/A

What are your top three priorities for the next legislative session?
Crime and punishment: We need to focus on law and order, with criminals held accountable and kept off our streets where they can reoffend.

Mental health/addiction treatment facilities: Colorado needs more facilities to treat those suffering from mental illness and addiction. Without a local facility, jail becomes home to those needing treatment.

Veterans programs: We need to offer more resources to those that have served to protect our country and communities.

The chamber may see split Democrat-Republican control next year. On what issues do you see common ground with the opposite party?
I believe that our mental health crisis and addiction crisis in Colorado is non-partisan and if addressed properly, can reduce our out-of-control crime and homelessness issues throughout the state and model the same change for the rest of the country.

What perspective or background would you bring to the chamber that is currently missing?
I am a working-class patriot that has street first-hand experience of what is going on in our communities, as well as foreign and overseas issues that bleed into our country. I am capable of communicating with anyone of any viewpoint and background to reach a point of compromise and collaboration. I am a leader, a servant, a strategist, and a communicator, not a politician.

What more can the state legislature do to ease housing costs across Colorado?
Stop spending state money uncontrollably and sticking it to the citizens to pay the outlandish bills. Also, stop dumping money into political agendas and start taking care of our taxpayers again through TABOR and reducing property tax and gas prices.

Do you support the current law on fentanyl possession and resources for treatment?
No, there needs to be a zero tolerance on possession of that poison on our streets. Minimum felony charge for any possession whatsoever. Drug courts can ensure that addicts can get the help they need with deferred sentences, treatment requirements, and probation requirements of sobriety. The drug is killing people while addicts and dealers are robbing/killing people to get it.

How candidate order was determined: A lot drawing was held at the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office on Aug. 3 to determine the general election ballot order for major and minor party candidates. Colorado law (1-5-404, C.R.S.) requires that candidates are ordered on the ballot in three tiers: major party candidates followed by minor party candidates followed by unaffiliated candidates. Within each tier, the candidates are ordered by a lot drawing with the exception of the office of Governor and Lt. Governor, which are ordered by the last name of the gubernatorial candidate.

Questionnaires were not sent to write-in candidates.
