As the Front Range anticipates its first measured snow of the season, travelers in Colorado’s mountain routes already are seeing closures due to snow and crashes caused by the snow.

Colorado road closures
- Westbound Interstate 70 at Empire Junction through Colorado 9, and at U.S. 40 to Floyd Hill.
- Eastbound U.S. 6 from Mile Point 222 to Interstate 70. Hazmat vehicles will stage at the Eisenhower Tunnel entrance and will be run through at the top of the hour or as traffic allows.
- U.S. 285 southbound from Forest Service Road 810 to County Road 872.
- U.S. 36 between Lyons and Estes Park for several slide-offs and crashes due to hazardous conditions.
- Westbound Interstate 70 at Beaver Brook and at Georgetown
- Eastbound Interstate 70 at Silverthorne
- Colorado 119 from U.S. 6 to Blackhawk
The Colorado State Patrol on Thursday evening urged drivers to avoid mountain travel on the I-70 corridor.
