Aurora restaurant closed “indefinitely” after early morning fire

The roof of an Eritrean and Ethiopian restaurant in Aurora went up in flames early Tuesday morning, the Denver Fire Department reported, and the restaurant staff said it will be closed indefinitely.

Denver and Aurora firefighters were battling the fire about 3:30 a.m., according to a Denver Fire Department tweet, at Portico Restaurant and Sports Bar near Tennessee Avenue and Havana Street. Photos from the scene show the roof on fire as multiple fire crews attempt to put out the blaze.

No one was injured in the fire, the Denver Fire Department said.
