An end to the frigid temperatures is in sight, and high temperatures in Denver Tuesday could even get up to the low 30s Tuesday.

The ends at 8 a.m. Tuesday after early morning wind chills reached -7 degrees in Denver.

Temperatures in Jackson County reached -41 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will rise after a band of snow that hit Denver Monday night decreases and dry air spreads across the area. The new fresh snowfall, though, will hinder warm-up efforts and keep most areas in the mid-20s. Denver’s high is 31 degrees.

The snow is also causing some issues to morning traffic, as a four-vehicle crash due to icy conditions closed Interstate 70 in Aurora for a while.

Tuesday night will return temperatures to the single digits with a nine-degree high, but Wednesday will moderate temperatures back to normal with a 42-degrees high.

“We`ll actually see some of the icebergs across the region shrink and melt off through next weekend,” forecasters at the National Weather Service in Boulder said.

Then, it’s 40s and 50s through the weekend as Denver gets a chance to melt some of this snow with sunny weather.
