A motorcycle rider died Sunday night after the driver of a dark-colored Audi attempted to change lanes on 6th Avenue and forced the motorcycle rider to hit another vehicle traveling next to him.
The motorcycle rider was traveling east on 6th Avenue between Wadsworth and Sheridan boulevards about 6:45 p.m. when the crash happened, the said in a news release.

Police said they do not know if the Audi hit the motorcycle when the driver changed lanes or if the car forced the motorcycle out of its lane, but the motorcycle hit an SUV next to it. The motorcycle rider then lost control of the motorcycle and went down on the right shoulder.
The motorcycle rider, who was wearing a helmet during the crash, died at the scene.
The driver of the newer model Audi with LED headlights did not stay at the scene.
