
The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad cleared a suspicious device left at a bank by a suspected robber. The device is not an explosive and the scene is declared safe.

According to a thread posted on the office’s Twitter account, a man robbed a Key Bank at 20290 E. Smoky Hill Road in unincorporated Arapahoe County.
The thread states the man, who is described as a white man standing 6 feet tall and wearing a dark gray or black hoodie with gray cargo pants, white shoes and a mask, left a device at the bank and fled in an early 2000s model tan Honda Accord.
About 1:40 p.m. Tuesday the sheriff’s said that the device is not an explosive and the scene is rendered safe. The bank will remain closed as the robbery investigation continues.
The suspect, who remains at large, fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Smoky Hill Road was closed at Picadilly Street because of the incident, the intersection has reopened. Nearby businesses that were evacuated by the incident have been cleared and reopened.
Anyone who has information on the robbery or who sees the suspect is asked to call 911.
