Aspen schools cleared of threat after report of “unknown incident”

Police urge people to avoid the area

The Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office have cleared all Aspen schools of any threats after an “unknown incident” was reported near a school.

Schools went on lockdown just after 9 a.m. after the report of the threat, and the sheriff’s office gave the all-clear at 10:20 a.m.

Aspen schools are working on reunification of students with parents, the department said.
