As snow showers spread down from the mountains along Colorado’s northern Front Range, roads became slick with snow and ice, leading to crashes and closures Tuesday morning in widespread areas.

Police advised caution and urged drivers to slow down, especially in the northern mountain foothills and along I-25, where accidents led to several lane closures early Tuesday.

The following highways and roads were closed, but most have reopened:

  • Colorado 93 between the intersections with Colorado 128 and 72 reopened at 11:13 a.m., according to a CDOT tweet.
  • Eastbound I-70 from Exit 216 Colorado 9 to U.S. 6 Loveland Pass reopened at 4:22 p.m., according to a CDOT tweet.
  • U.S. 6 eastbound between Montezuma Road and I-70 reopened at 4:19 p.m., according to a CDOT tweet.
  • U.S. 287 in both directions from Lamar to Springfield reopened at 5:45 p.m., according to a CSP tweet.

The snow also caused delays and cancellations at Denver International Airport.
