Sunny blue skies with temperatures in the 70s await metro Denver residents this week, and nighttime temperatures are expected to stay above freezing, according to the National Weather Service.

The Monday high in Denver is expected to be 73 degrees, weather service forecasters said. Wind will blow at around 9 miles per hour to the east.

Along Colorado’s Front Range, cities can expect temperatures as high as 77 degrees this week, forecasters said.

In the mountains, temperatures will hang in the 50s on Monday. On Tuesday, winds are expected to pick up in western Colorado, creating fire danger, especially in areas where grass and forests are dry. The weather service is warning of critical fire weather conditions Tuesday afternoon along the Interstate 25 corridor, on the eastern high plains and in South Park and southern Front Range foothills.
