has canceled its upcoming Jane Goodall exhibit, citing “damage to exhibition components discovered upon arrival.”
The exhibit, “Becoming Jane: The Evolution of Dr. Jane Goodall,” was scheduled to open May 19, and was billed as a celebration of the life and work of the esteemed scientist.
The museum announced its cancellation Monday. Reached by email, a representative did not offer comment on what exactly was damaged.
In an email to members, the museum said “We understand that many of you were looking forward to attending this exhibition, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
“Becoming Jane” is . It was most recently on view in Missouri at the St. Louis Science Center, Oct. 7, 2022 through April 9, 2023.
Instead of the exhibit, the museum will screen the film “Jane Goodall’s Reasons for Hope” in its new Infinity Theater. Members will have access to a screening on June 2 as well as $5 tickets while itap shown. The movie opens to the public one June 3.
