A yearling bull moose found itself in not-so-moose-friendly Longmont this morning.

Several residents posted photos of the young animal wandering around Yellow Park in the Renaissance area.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife spokesperson Kara Van Hoose said the moose was “very successfully” relocated to a better moose habitat in Boulder County.

The moose is likely around 1 year old, and while younger moose are known to head into cities during the spring and summer, Van Hoose said urban areas like Longmont are not suitable living spaces for them.
