Colorado transportation officials have opened some lanes after a closure of westbound Interstate 70 near the Eisenhower Tunnel for safety reasons Tuesday morning after a truck crash that led to a fire in trees along the highway.
Shortly after 7 a.m., the between Exit 218 at Herman Gulch and Exit 216 at Loveland Pass, west of Silver Plume, according to postings on X, the social media site formerly called Twitter.
A truck rollover crash just east of the tunnel shortly after sunrise apparently sparked the fire, which spread into trees. Firefighters were at the scene dousing that blaze.
