Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet and fellow Democrats have introduced legislation that would invest $50 million annually in outdoor recreation infrastructure, planning and business development. Federal data show that outdoor recreation accounted for 1.9% of the nation's dollar gross domestic product. and $862 in economic output in 2021.
