Forecasters expect a nearly 40-degree temperature difference between the high and low  Tuesday as a cold front moves in, bringing with it snow Wednesday evening.

Tuesday’s high during the sunny day will be a warm 75 degrees, but the cold front will bring the temperature down to 36 by Tuesday night.

Wednesday will be dreary with rain chances before 4 p.m. and a high of 46 degrees, then snow showers are likely in the afternoon and evening. Wednesday night’s low temperature will be 30 degrees.

the best chance of precipitation Wednesday evening looks to be along the Interstate 25 corridor from Denver southward.

Accumulations may be an inch or two, forecasters said, but confidence in totals right now is low due to disagreements among forecast models.

The mountains will likely see substantial snowfall, but confidence there is low as well.

After Wednesday, Denver will gradually start warming up until temps return to the 60s by Sunday.
