High winds and blowing snow closed U.S. 385 between Cheyenne Wells and Burlington on Thursday afternoon, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The highway was closed as of 3 p.m. for safety concerns,  reopened at 5:37 p.m.

Many eastern Colorado roadways are seeing wind gusts of up to 30 mph, according to the agency. Drivers on Interstate 70 between Flagler and the Kansas border can expect blowing snow and wind gusts of up to 28 mph.

This is a developing story.
