More depth is coming to the front seven of the Colorado defense.
On Friday, former New Mexico State linebacker Nikhil Webb Walker announced his commitment to the Buffaloes.
The 6-foot-6, 275-pounder Walker was a part-time starter for the Aggies this season, playing in 12 games overall, with four starts. He recorded 23 tackles, five tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. In 2022, he played in three games, with four tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss.
A native of Trelawny, Jamaica, he came to NMSU from Ipswich High School and has three seasons to play.
New staffer
On Thursday, former Florida A&M recruiting coordinator Devin Rispress announced on social media that he has accepted a position on head coach Deion Sanders’ staff at CU.
According to Rispress’ social media, he is now an assistant in CU’s player personnel department.
Rispress played a key role in shaping the roster for FAMU this season, helping the Rattlers go 12-1, while winning the SWAC title and defeating Howard in the Celebration Bowl.
Thurman to Hawaii
On Friday night, 247Sports reported that CU staffer Dennis Thurman is expected to be hired as the defensive coordinator at Hawaii.
Thurman spent this past season as the Buffs’ director of quality of control for defense. He spent the previous three years working as Sanders’ defensive coordinator at Jackson State.
A long-time NFL player and coach, Thurman has also been the defensive coordinator for the NFL’s Buffalo Bills and New York Jets.
