Powerhouses, Cinderella stories, upsets and surprises. Every year, college basketball sees some of each. And the same is true of The Denver Post’s annual food bracket challenge.
We’re now down to the Final Four in our effort to determine the best ramen in the Denver area, based on reader votes, and we’ve seen some surprises — and some expectations come true.
Last week, in a battle of titans, Osaka Ramen took out Dragonfly Noodle — both restaurants coming from James Beard-recognized chefs. Osaka now goes on to face Neko Ramen & Rice, a year-old spot on Colorado Boulevard that is making a strong case for itself.
On the other side, five-year-old DU-area favorite Tatsu Izakaya won out over Washington Park’s Sukiya Ramen, while the still-trendy but delicious Mizu Izakaya beat Chi Lin Asian Eatery, which has gathered a rabid following since opening in the Stanley Marketplace.
