Colorado Parks and Wildlife are responding to a bear in the area of Lavender Hill Lane after it was spotted wandering through residential areas.

According to , the bear was first reported near 2300 Indian Peaks Trail and then later on Lavender Hill Lane. Animal control contacted CPW, which is attempting to locate the bear. They will then monitor it as it wanders to a safer location or relocate the bear if needed, according to the post.

Police reminded locals that in the case that a bear comes near a home, residents should do their best to haze the bear away. Hazing can include yelling, blowing an air horn, activating a car alarm or making other loud noises. The public should never approach or corner a bear, the police wrote.
