Dozens of units damaged after fire tears through Public Storage facility on South Parker Road

No injuries were reported and the cause was still under investigation Monday morning

Investigators are trying to determine what sparked a fire at a self-storage facility on South Parker Road in unincorporated Arapahoe County on Sunday night, a blaze that left dozens of units damaged by flames, smoke or water, authorities said.

The fire at the Public Storage facility at 5212 S. Parker Road was reported around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, .

The fire traveled through the attic of the storage building, South Metro Fire Rescue officials said.

A total of 48 units were reported to have smoke and water damage, officials said, with 32 units directly affected by the fire.

Officials reported having the fire under control by about 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

No injuries were reported.

Aurora Fire Rescue and the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene, according to South Metro Fire.
