Grease fire destroys kitchen, attic of Denny’s in Lakewood

A grease fire that started Tuesday morning in the kitchen of a Denny’s in Lakewood spread to the restaurant’s attic, fire officials said.

“There is extensive damage to the kitchen and to the attic space above the restaurant,” Tuesday morning.

West Metro fire crews responded to reports of a fire at the Lakewood Denny’s — located at 565 Union Boulevard — around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to Pulsepoint records.

Workers and customers were inside the Denny’s when the grease fire sparked, but no one was injured, fire officials said.
