Man killed after driver hits him with SUV, Brighton police investigate

The Brighton Police Department is investigating a vehicular homicide in which a 50-year-old man was killed last Saturday.

The incident happened about 2:45 a.m. July 27 near the 4500 block of Southern Street in Brighton. The driver of a Chevrolet Tahoe struck a man who had exited the vehicle moments earlier, according to the news release.

The driver, Ronnie Vigil, 25, was arrested on charges of vehicular homicide and driving under the influence, according to police.

Vigil was released from the Adams County Jail on a $20,000 bond. A hearing on the charges in the case is scheduled for Tuesday, court documents show.

The victim has not yet been publicly identified.
