Westbound Interstate 70 reopens near Bennett after semitrailer crash, fire

One person was taken to the hospital after a crash and fire involving two semitrailers on westbound Interstate 70 near Bennett, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

and exit 299 for Manila Road at 3:45 p.m., according to a Colorado Department of Transportation travel alert.

Troopers responded to the crash between two tractor-trailers shortly after 11 a.m., said Trooper Gabriel Moltrer. One person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The vehicle fire started after the crash and was put out by 12:16 p.m., Moltrer said.
