An armed woman was shot and injured by Larimer County sheriff’s deputies Tuesday after a high-speed chase through Loveland, sheriff’s officials said.
Just after 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, a Larimer County sheriff’s deputy attempted to pull over a car whose registered owner — an adult woman — had a warrant out for her arrest and a revoked license, according to a .
The driver refused to pull over and led deputies on a chase through west Loveland, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies tried to slow down the suspect with tire spikes near 14th Street and Lincoln Avenue, but the woman continued driving at speeds over 100 mph, sheriff’s officials said.
the woman stopped at Wheatridge Court and County Road 18, where she got out of the car with a gun. That’s when two deputies shot her.
Paramedics took the woman to the hospital, and no bystanders or first responders were injured, sheriff’s officials said.
The Eighth Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team will investigate the shooting with the Loveland Police Department as the lead investigating agency.
