A 20-year-old Aurora man died early Sunday morning after he was shot in what police believe was a targeted attack.
The victim — later identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office as Kimani Ahmean Fironate Young-Ike — self-transported to the hospital after the shooting, which happened at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Aurora Police said in a release.
The 20-year-old later died at the hospital. His cause and manner of death are still under investigation, according to coroner officials.
The shooting happened in the 1700 block of Boston Street. Police have not arrested anyone but do not believe there’s an ongoing threat to the public.
No one else was injured in the shooting. Evidence at the scene suggested the victim, whose name has not yet been released, was targeted in the attack, Aurora police said.
Additional information was not immediately available Sunday morning.
