Whether your favorites are from John Denver and the Muppets, George Michael, Ella Fitzgerald, Mariah Carey, Dean Martin or even The Pogues, you’ll likely hear them over and over again for the next six or seven weeks in the lead-up to Dec. 25. Christmas music, after all, has become a tradition that transcends the actual holiday and is now simply an American wintertime ritual.
Denver radio station KOSI 101.1 has been roasting those old chestnuts now for the past 22 years, and it once again will switch to a 24-hour Christmas music format this month.
The changeover will take place on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 5 p.m. KOSI DJs will be broadcasting live from the Moxy hotel in Cherry Creek North, at 240 Josephine St., from 4 to 6 p.m. that day, and Santa will stop by for a visit, according to event organizers.
“Everyone who came out had such a good time last year that we knew we had to do it there again this year,” KOSI program director Jim Lawson said in a statement.
