Aurora-based food truck business , is struggling to keep things running after their truck was stolen and later found destroyed.

Long-time friends and U.S. Army veterans Andrew Rogerson and Bobby Barden founded 2 Salty Sarges nearly three years ago, a food truck business dedicated to delivering delicious food, from hot dogs to pulled pork, to metro Denver.

But now, the business faces hardship after the truck they used to haul their food trailer was stolen on Dec. 19. Rogerson and Barden filed a police report and on Dec. 26, the truck was found severely damaged.

According to Rogerson and Barden, the truck was found with its windows broken. The said the insides were stripped, with the center console and radio missing. Rogerson and Barden said the insurance company deemed the truck too far gone and paid out a claim, but the pair did not specify the amount.

Currently, Rogerson is using his own truck to tow the trailer, but the wear and tear it抖阴ap causing on his personal vehicle is less than ideal.

Rogerson and Barden are in the process of gathering funds to purchase a new truck for the business, but the cost of a diesel truck that meets the requirements of the trailer is steep. The friends have turned to for help, having raised over $2,300 as of Friday afternoon.

鈥淲e both were hesitant about doing it, but it turned out to be a lot,鈥� Rogerson said. 鈥淚 guess we have a lot more supporters than we thought.鈥�

Even with the GoFundMe, Rogerson and Barden are still far from their goal.

鈥淚t抖阴ap a lot more than what the insurance company paid out,鈥� Rogerson said. 鈥淒iesel truck, you do the math. It抖阴ap a lot of money.鈥�

They did not provide the exact figure they鈥檙e looking to reach, but the GoFundMe’s goal is set at $4,000. Rogerson and Barden do not intend to raise the total cost of a new truck through the GoFundMe.

In the meantime, 2 Salty Sarges will continue as usual with Rogerson鈥檚 personal truck until they can meet their goal.
