The memorial service for notable philanthropist and Denver civic leader Daniel L. Ritchie is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the University of Denver.

The service will be held at the Magness Arena at the Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports & Wellness located at 2240 Buchtel Blvd.

Tickets are not required to attend.

Daniel L. Ritchie, renowned Denver civic leader, arts booster and pillar of DU, dies at 93

The University of Denver chancellor emeritus, onetime leader of major communications corporations and former CEO and chairman of the board of trustees for the Denver Center for the Performing Arts died last month.

Friends and Colorado dignitaries told The Denver Post Ritchie's generosity and hard work bolstered iconic institutions in the state for a lasting legacy.

Speakers at the 90-minute ceremony include Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, Gov. Jared Polis and state Attorney General Phil Weiser.

Doors to Magness Arena will open at 9:45 a.m.
