Eastbound I-70 was closed for safety concerns between exit 203 for east Frisco and exit 205 for Silverthorne as of 9 p.m., according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
U.S. 6 was also closed through near Golden and over Loveland Pass for safety concerns.
Westbound I-70 was closed between exit 232 for Empire Junction/Georgetown and exit 205 for Silverthorne but reopened as of 9 p.m.

Original story: Westbound Interstate 70 has reopened after an 11-vehicle crash near Empire closed the roadway for several hours and sent two people to the hospital on Monday morning as a winter storm snarled mountain travel.
The crash was reported at 10:16 a.m. near exit 232 in Clear Creek County and involved two tractor-trailers, a Ford F350 hauling livestock and eight other vehicles, CSP officials said in a news release.
Westbound I-70 had reopened between Exit 232 for Empire Junction to Exit 228 for Georgetown and County Road 381 as of 1:38 p.m. Until the roadway was reopened, all westbound traffic was exiting at Empire, according to CDOT and the
Two people were taken to the hospital with injuries. Approximately 80 gallons of diesel spilled from the F350 during the crash, and the highway was closed for fuel clean-up and to remove vehicles from the road.
None of the livestock were injured in the crash, and the F350 driver was cited on suspicion of careless driving as a result of driving too fast for the conditions.
Heavy snowfall in Colorado’s mountains and whiteout conditions fueled by strong winds also closed U.S. 6 over Loveland Pass on Monday, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
The highway is closed in both directions between mile marker 222 and Interstate 70 for safety concerns, .
