Emergency crews put out structure fire at Salt restaurant in Boulder

Emergency crews put out a structure fire on Monday evening at Salt restaurant, 1047 Pearl St., according to Boulder Fire-Rescue spokeswoman Jamie Barker.

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The structure sustained significant damage as a result of the fire and smoke, Barker said.

Crews evacuated the building and buildings west of the structure, Barker said.

Crews were called to the scene around 8 p.m., and the fire was mostly out within in hour. They continued to work throughout the building to ensure all hot spots were extinguished, according to

Salt opened in 2009 at the building at 1047 Pearl St. The building had been vacant for nearly two years after serving as home to Tom’s Tavern for more than four decades.
