Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies are asking for help tracking down the owner of 18 caged rabbits that were abandoned next to a Golden warehouse dumpster this month.
Friday included body-worn-camera video captured by deputies who found the bunnies May 10 in the 15700 block of West Sixth Avenue Frontage Road.

“You’re going to put these out by the trash?,” a deputy remarks in apparent surprise as she loads one of the cages into a county vehicle.
The office wrote in the post that two litters of babies were among the animals found.
“This isn’t how responsible pet ownership works, and itap illegal,” the post reads, adding that deputies are “all ears” regarding tips about who dumped the cages.
