Man, woman dead in Denver murder-suicide, police say

The shooting happened in the 1200 block of South Osceola Street on Tuesday

Two people were shot and killed Tuesday afternoon in Denver in what police are investigating as a murder-suicide.

Denver officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1200 block of South Osceola Street at 2:41 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from the police department.

When officers arrived, they found a man and a woman dead inside the home, police said.

Investigators believe the man shot the woman before shooting himself, police said. Both will be identified by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.

Police said the man and woman knew each other but didn’t specify the nature of their relationship.

The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner identified the woman as Ambarli Garcia-Ladino, 23, and said the cause of death was a gunshot wound and the manner of her death is homicide. The man was identified as Yoelvis Silva-Nieves, 24, and said the cause of death was a gunshot wound and the manner of death is suicide.
