A bull moose that then evaded capture in Greeley later in the day was finally sedated and relocated Wednesday morning.

The moose was captured around 10 a.m. and relocated to a “more antler-friendly location,” according to a social media post from the Greeley Police Department.

The moose was spotted Tuesday morning in and around the Grapevine Hollow neighborhood in Evans, eventually heading north into Greeley’s Josephine B. Jones Park later that afternoon.

He evaded capture Tuesday night, prompting Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials to continue relocation efforts into Wednesday morning.

This was the third straight July a moose has made its way to Weld County. Last year, , and in northeast Greeley.
