Body of missing toddler found in Silverthorne, foul play not suspected

A missing toddler was found dead Tuesday evening in Silverthorne, city officials said.

The toddler, identified as 1-year-old Zeldris Milo Maes of Arvada by the Summit County Coroner’s Office, was just after 3:45 p.m. Tuesday in the Willow Grove Open Space, Silverthorne officials said in a .

Search and rescue teams found the boy’s body at about 5 p.m., after searching Blue River and the surrounding area, officials said. It’s unclear exactly where the boy was found.

Silverthorne spokesperson Kristina Nayden declined to release additional information about the Tuesday search or the circumstances leading up to the boy’s death, but she said investigators do not suspect foul play.

Silverthorne police officers, Colorado State Patrol troopers, Summit County sheriff’s deputies, the Summit County Rescue Group, Summit Fire and EMS crews, the Red, White and Blue Fire Protection District, Dillon police officers and Frisco police officers all helped search for the missing boy.
