Eastbound I-70 reopens in western Colorado after fire

Eastbound Interstate 70 was closed Sunday afternoon near Rifle for a fire, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The eastbound highway was closed at exit 94 for the Garfield County Regional Airport, about two miles east of Rifle, just before 3 p.m. Sunday, according to .

It fully reopened by 3:45 p.m. Sunday.

State officials didn’t specify the type of fire or how it was impacting the highway.
