Former Nuggets player’s pregnant wife says she was attacked by shark

The pregnant wife of a former Nuggets star forward said a shark attacked her.

Eleonora Boi, the wife of former Denver forward Danilo Gallinari, said she was bitten by a baby shark and had to undergo surgery on her leg, according to .

“I never thought I could get attacked by a shark,” Boi writes in a translation of her Instagram post, “and I was near the shore and on a super crowded beach.”

She added that she and her baby are fine and recovering.

But “regarding the shark, you’ll hear from my lawyers soon,” she writes in the post.

Her 36-year-old husband is playing for Vaqueros de Bayamón in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional in Puerto Rico alongside fellow former Nuggets JaVale McGee and Renaldo Balkman. Gallinari and Balkman were acquired by Denver in 2011 as part of a trade with the Knicks for Carmelo Anthony. Gallinari played six years with the Nuggets, averaging 16.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists.
