One of Colorado’s best ski deals for families will be even better this winter when Colorado Ski Country USA’s venerable Kids Passport program expands to include kindergarten through second grade.
The , which is marking its 30th season, offers four days of skiing at all 19 participating resorts for less than a dollar a day. The cost is $67 per child for kindergarten through second grade, $72 for third through sixth grade.
The passport is honored at Arapahoe Basin, Aspen Highlands, Aspen Mountain, Buttermilk, Cooper, Copper Mountain, Echo Mountain, Eldora, Granby Ranch, Howelsen Hill, Loveland, Monarch, Powderhorn, Purgatory, Snowmass, Steamboat, Sunlight, Telluride and Winter Park.
The five Colorado resorts owned by Vail Resorts — Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Crested Butte — are not included because they do not belong to Ski Country, which has been the state’s nonprofit trade association for skiing since 1965. Vail Resorts dropped out in 2008.
The passport program debuted 30 years ago as the Fifth Grade Passport. Sixth grade was added a decade ago. Third and fourth grades were added for the 2022-23 season.
“This program now provides a seven-year on-ramp to the sport for kids and their families at an accessible price point,” Colorado Ski Country USA chief executive Melanie Mills said in a news release. “From first turns to lifelong traditions, the family-favorite Ski Passport is where it all begins.”
