More than 500 flights delayed for thunderstorms at Denver International Airport

Hundreds of flights were delayed Tuesday amid a thunderstorm-fueled ground delay at Denver International Airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground delay at DIA just before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, which lasted approximately 5 hours, .

As of 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, 521 flights headed in and out of DIA had been delayed and two were canceled, according to .

United delayed 180 flights, followed by 177 from Southwest and 112 from SkyWest. Another seven airlines delayed between one and 17 flights, according to FlightAware. Both canceled flights were United flights.
