Sign reading ‘Bring back Jim Crow’ spotted over Denver highway

Two signs hanging over I-25 were removed at about 7 a.m. Sunday, Denver police said

A sign calling for the return of racial segregation laws was spotted over — and quickly removed from — Interstate 25 in Denver on Sunday.

Denver officers removed two banners hanging from a over I-25 near 16th and Central streets about 7 a.m. Sunday, a spokesperson for the police department said.

According to Fox31, , one read “Bring back Jim Crow.” Another said “Justice for Iryna Zarutska,” referring to the Ukrainian refugee last month.

The department declined to confirm the slogans on the banners. As of Tuesday, no suspects had been identified publicly.

Anyone with information about the signs is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867, police said.
