Mattel’s 2025 Dia de Muertos Barbies are simply stunning
Mattel just released its and , and they are so detailed and gorgeous. The special edition dolls were created by doll designer to “pay homage to the gorgeous colors, traditions, and symbols of the season,” according to Mattel.
This year’s Barbie is wearing a cream-colored gown with tiers featuring a cempasúchil (marigold) flower motif and a matching headpiece. The sugar skull-style makeup and jewelry complete the look. Ken sports a charro outfit and a traditional sombrero.
Each year, the Barbie and Ken dolls created in honor of this special holiday are made to honor the cultural significance of Dia de Muertos. The dolls are collector items and need stands to be displayed.

The 2025 Dia de Muertos Barbie and Ken dolls
This year’s Día de Muertos Barbie is wearing an intricately designed, multitiered cream gown. It features a marigold flower motif on the bottom tier and colorful ribbon stitched around the top two layers. The flower motif is used to guide spirits back to the living world. Her makeup is done in the sugar skull-style, and her jewelry and headpiece are stunning.
The 2025 Día de Muertos Ken doll is festival-ready in his black charro suit featuring gold trim and cempasúchil flowers. His shirt has marigold accents, and he wears a pink ribbon tie and a sombrero. His face is done up in traditional calavera face paint.
The 2024 Dia de Muertos Barbie and Ken dolls
Last year’s Barbie wears a satiny black dress accented with a blue, ruffled bodice and pink ribbon belt. A sugar skull motif accents the front of the gown, and her headpiece, made of gathered fabric, looks like marigold flowers.
The 2024 edition of Ken perfectly matches Barbie’s gown. He wears a black suit with the same blue accents as Barbie’s outfit. The white trim on his pants is meant to mimic bone, while his blue calavera face paint coordinates with his suit.
The 2023 Dia de Muertos Barbie and Ken dolls
Barbie’s 2023 gown is a dazzling pink with a ruffled neckline and flared hem. The dress has a sugar skull and flower design down the front, while her headpiece features butterflies. She comes with a miniature ofrenda diorama with dancing skeletons inside.
Ken’s 2023 look features a bold blue jacket and a hat with a sugar skull band. He wears a silvery striped shirt and black boots to complete the ensemble. His calavera face paint complements the stitching on his jacket.
