A pedestrian died early Sunday morning in a hit-and-run crash on the edge of Denver’s 16th Street pedestrian mall, blocks away from Union Station, police said.

Officers responded to the fatal crash at 16th and Market streets at 2:18 a.m. Sunday, according to the . Information on the cause of the crash was not available.

Milton McBride, 27, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide, police said in a 9:57 a.m. update. He is scheduled to appear Monday morning in Denver County Court.

The identified the victim killed in the crash as 26-year-old Garrett Bimler. Bimler died from multiple blunt-force injuries and his manner of death was an accident, according to the office.
